August 2014 saw the meeting of the Canadian and BBMF Lancasters at RAF Waddington.
Fascinated by the reflections I saw in the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Lancaster (PA474), I had to portray them – and the half-hidden interior.
My drawing focuses on the reflected scene of the two aircraft, the spectators and the atmosphere of the day. The crowd I was in is right at the centre of the circular bomb-aimer’s window.
It was so rewarding and enjoyable working on this image as it came to life.
