How do I get an unusual angle? Airfix came to the rescue again! Once I had built the kit, it was into the garden to get the right angles and lighting/shadows. I used resulting photography as a basis and, with my reference library, I could apply the correct markings and detailing. I chose a winter landscape (the Cairngorms) as they wanted to use the image on Christmas cards too!
The squadron were so pleased with the result – especially as I added a hand-drawn Squadron crest! The original is available – still my favourite Tornado portrayal.
