The Avro Sisters

I was contacted by an aviation enthusiast from Canada who loves older types of aircraft – especially from World War 2. Wendy has a ‘thing’ for FM213, ‘VeRA’ the Canadian Avro Lancaster, that flies from its home, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.
After a discussion of the brief, I suggested that I show both VeRA and the BBMF (Battle of Britain Memorial Flight) Lancaster, PA474 ‘The City of Lincoln’. This was when the Canadian Lancaster visited the UK in 2014 and the two Lancaster flew together.
Wendy wanted a drawing so I suggested using one of my photo’s of the pair, taken when they were at RAF Waddington (along with a Vulcan)…
I kept my customer in the loop as it developed (I always give the customer the option). Finally I was able to send an image of it when completed:
“I cant say it enough just how thrilled I am with the brilliant drawing of the Lancs . I absolutely love it, and I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done!” I think Wendy was pleased, I certainly am.
