I was fortunate enough to be able to visit RAF Waddington on a rather special occasion – the gathering of BBMF’s Lancaster PA474, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum’s Lancaster FM213 (‘VeRA’) AND Vulcan B2 XH558. They were to fly together in a special flight.
After the Lancasters arrived I was in a small crowd close to the aircraft. I spotted this front view of PA474 (‘City of Lincoln’) and saw some superb reflections in its perspex…
This drawing is the result. It was so time consuming, working out what I was seeing and trying to decipher what was inside and portraying the elements in the reflection.
After some incredible reactions it’s now available as a limited edition print.
