I was enjoying the atmosphere at the 2015 Flying Legends display at Duxford when Red Bull’s North American B-25 taxied in front of me. I was astonished at the fabulous finish of the aircraft. All its metal construction was in mirror finish – I just knew that I had to portray it!
It actually proved to be bit of a nightmare, to be honest. I needed to break it down in to sections and build up gradually, unit by unit. When all were done it was ‘just’ a case of strengthening as necessary. It was a relief when I added my signature and all was complete.
It was all worth it when I got some great feedback, especially from Flying Bulls/Hangar-7 who operate the B-25 as part of their famous fleet of aircraft.
