A tale of TWO Phantoms… I created this drawing quite some time ago, and produced it as a print, when I had a small concern (Flightline Graphics) producing aviation prints (from my original drawings) for air shows around the country.
The Phantom (in 111 Squadron markings) proved popular. Perhaps my most well-known customer was a certain Mark Hanna. I retained the original for quite a number of years, receiving some incredible comments from those who saw it.
A bit of a long story, but recently a friend of mine sold the original on my behalf, the only problem was that I’d just sold it too!! The upshot was that I had an urgent new commission.
Happily, I was able to replicate the original but in much better detail and with a bit more impact. I wonder if the new buyer (in the USA) will notice the 2023 date next to my signature…
