Drawn for a friend who had been brought in the ship up from southern Africa, departing from Cape Town. The distinctive form of Table Mountain was a prerequisite to define the location. Getting the windows correct made for some close scrutiny!
Janet was delighted with the result, bringing back special memories.
Incidentally, the picture means a lot to me too, as it almost recreates a special family picture (of a sister ship – taking a great uncle to Singapore in WW2) I remember from my youngest days.
