Growing up near to an RAF base in Northumberland, and with relatives in the Royal Air Force, it’s not surprising that I quickly developed an interest in aviation. I always seemed to have a pencil in my hand and sketching aircraft…

Art was always my favourite subject – gaining O and an A Levels at school/college. Later, I became a Graphic Designer after studying at Lincolnshire College of Art and attaining Full Membership of the Chartered Society of Designers (CSD).

My interest in aviation art was initially expressed with joint venture – Flightline Graphics – initially showcasing aviation prints from my original pencil drawings. During this time I was pleased to accept commissions from the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, the British Army, individuals, etc.

Aviation-related graphic design work at that time included producing the initial brochure publicity that ultimately led to getting Vulcan XH558 back into the air.

After developing my pencil and colour work, I was fortunate to join the ranks of the Guild of Aviation Artists (recognised throughout the world as the premier society for the promotion of aviation art), attaining Full Membership (GAvA).

Since 1999, I’ve exhibited annually at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London – as part of the Guild’s annual ‘Painting of the Year’ exhibition.

My aviation works now encompass all mediums, including gouache and drawing. I‘m pleased to say that my time with the Guild has resulted in several awards. I’m still so proud to say I was chosen to produce the publicity painting for the 2018 exhibition – quite an unexpected honour. I chose a theme celebrating the 100th anniversary of the RAF.   I hope you like my new website, showcasing some of my favourite pieces and some of my graphic design services.
